The choice to decorate a house, or just one room in a house in a particular style can be a major one. This applies if you are straying from traditional, contemporary or modern styles mainly. Basically, it becomes a question of what do you value most, how much you enjoy the time you live in the abode, and how much do you want to ensure that it will appeal to a wide market when you go to sell it.

I can see arguments for both choices, and conclude the following. If you are planning to stay in the home for the remainder of your days, then bloody well decorate it like a carnival tent if you want to. However, if you are intending a shorter stay, then either decorate in a manner that can easily be transformed into a more popular style, or get the style bang on.

This means if you want French country, know exactly what this entails. Or if you are feeling mellow and Moroccan be consistent with what you bring into the space. I say this for one very good reason, while not everyone will like your selection they will appreciate that it is a good rendition. On the other hand, if you do a poor job of it, then even those who love French country or Moroccan will be disappointed.
