Quick and Inexpensive Curb Appeal Projects

In some ways it is kind of sad to think that so many people live in a home for years, but only really fix it up to its full potential when they are ready to pass it on to some one else. Hence, the pursuit of curb appeal, but only sought after once the property is being prepared for placement in the real estate market. I know I think it would make more sense to do these touch ups, and home improvements at the beginning, when the home is originally purchased, so the time spent in it is top notch.

Anyway, for those of you who are in fact attempting to create the much coveted curb appeal, whether it be in order to sell, or just for your own enjoyment, here are some areas to focus upon. You might be surprised to see how small some of these upgrades are, in reference to effort involved, and financial investment.

The entryway, by creating symmetry amongst the front door, and two coordinated lights flanking either side of it you make things instantly more appealing. Another way to tackle this area is to update the hardware. Replace faded, ill matched house numbers, door handles, and locks with others that all work in harmony together, and you will see a big difference swiftly. And last but certainly not least, give the front door itself a fresh coat of paint. Maybe consider choosing a more vibrant shade of what you already have to attract the eye.
